Saturn retrograde cycle is for 4 ½ months and Saturn retrogrades every 12 ½ months

A planet that is retrograde means that the planet is making an apparent backward motion. Planets never move backwards, hence the term apparent. The Sun and Moon never retrograde. Rahu Ketu (nodal points) is always retrograde.

Saturn is retrograde from 8TH FEB. 2012 up to 26TH JUNE 2012 in Chitra Nakshatra.

Saturn retrograde period will assist you in completing anything that is left undone, unattended to, partially completed or not completed at all. It does not pressure you to do these things, but gives you time to do them.

Saturn retrograde assists with pushing you beyond your limitations by showing you that you are capable of doing far more than you thought you could. It also can take those blind folds off that you keep on your eyes. Saturn gives you the ability to see more deeply into people, situations and things around you. It brings more wisdom to you; but remembers that this wisdom is usually gained from hard work and hands on experiences.

This period will surely slow down the normal rate of activity so that better methods and strategies can be developed.

Sade Sati.. The period of Judgment!

When Saturn transits 12th, 1st and 2nd houses from Moon sign this period is called Sade Sati (Seven and a half years of Saturn).
Sade Sati is a very dreadful word for the common masses. It occurs after every 30 years in life. People go by mere traditional convention and general belief that Sade Sati period brings dissatisfaction, disappointments, depression, differences, disputes, disharmony and undesirable results, but actually this is not the case.
Sade Sati consists of 3 cycles of 2 1/2 years when Saturn transits in 12th, 1st and 2nd houses from Moon sign.

The three cycles are explained below as per standard dictum and should not be accepted as such, subject to other conditions laid down below:

First Cycle 

If in a birth chart Saturn is passing through the last phase of life may force native to get sanyas VIZ one will be detached from his or her family, wealth, home etc. Fore asking of these worldly things amounts to Sanyas.

Third Cycle

Saturn when transits in 2nd house from Moon, third cycle of Sade Sati starts. It affects one’s health, children and may even cause death if it come in late life .During this transit, loss of health, happiness, loss of position, increased expenditure, financial stress and physical weakness might be felt. Gain of wealth from others, which will be lost, deception through wicked men. May cause death of children too if other combinations to confirm the same are present.

Virgo: Last phase of 2 1/2 years starting from 15th Nov. 2011.

Libra: Middle phase of 2 1/2 years starting from 15th Nov. 2011.

SADE SATI FOR KANYA  RASHI- "Setting Phase"

This position of Moon is regarded "on Leg" as Saturn will be in 2nd house from your natal moon sign Virgo. This is also called "Setting Phase of Shani Sade Sati" as this the last 2.5 years of your Shani Sade Sati. The period will not be awfully beneficial to you. You might face problems related to money matters. Tuning with your own people and your relatives may get disturbed. Give proper attention to our day to day pursuits. This is not a perfect time for taking any risk regarding business matters as the chances of loss are very high during this period. Health ailment of your parents can disturb your peace of mind. You will not be able to fulfill your family's expectations.

As this is 'setting' period of Shani's Sade Sati and Saturn will be transiting in the 2nd house from the natal Moon , it indicates difficulty on financial and domestic front. You will start feeling slight relief after having two difficult phases of Sade Sati. Still, misunderstandings and financial stress can be seen during this period. Expenses may keep soaring high and you need to continue exercising control. Sudden financial losses and fear of theft is also a possibility. This position of Moon is regarded "on Heart" as Saturn will be transiting through your Moon Sign Libra. This is also called "Peak Phase of Shani Sade Sati". This is not the best period to begin new long-term relationships/ friendships. There could be vital issues in professional or personnel life which can cause anxiety. It's always better to be optimistic than to be pessimistic .There is also a contraction in love and feelings mostly due to which the satisfaction level would be poor. The chance of happiness in love is low. Birth of an issue may bring happiness in your home. New relationships will have less than normal chances of taking off controversy and issues could come up. Good stability of mind is seen at the last phase of this period.

This is the peak of Shani's Sade Sati. Generally this phase of Saturn is the most difficult one. SADESATI FOR VRISCHIK RASHI- "Rising Phase"

This position of Moon is regarded "on Head" as Saturn will be transiting through 12th from your Moon Sign Scorpio. This is also called "Rising Phase of Shani Sade Sati". This is not a very satisfactory period for you. You may get indulge into sudden losses financially. Loss of money due to litigation and disputes is also possible. Failure in attempts will make you feel frustrated. You will have to slog as the work burden will be too much. Family life will also create tensions. Don't try to take risks in business matters as period is not very harmonious to you. Your enemies will try to tarnish your image. Loss of money will be quite evident.

Since this is the starting period of Shani's Sade Sati it generally indicates financial loss, problems by hidden enemies, aimless travel, disputes, and poverty. During this period, you may face problems created by your hidden enemies. Relationship with your colleagues will not good enough and they will create problems in your work environment. You may also face challenges on your domestic front. This may create pressure and tension. You need to exercise control over your spending otherwise it be lead to bigger financial problems.
